Truck Insurance
Truck insurance is important. Really, insuring any investment is important, but it becomes especially important when the investment is also your livelihood. It would be akin to running a corner store without insuring the building against things such as break in or fire. Sure you could do it, but is the risk worth it?
Well actually, the world of automobiles functions slightly differently from the world of real estate. You see, the federal government requires you to have truck insurance. Oh they don’t say “thou shalt insure thine truck” but the meaning is clear, and in the best interest of all involved. In order to drive on the roads, you must at the very least carry liability coverage on the vehicle you drive. This will ensure that if you get into an accident in which you are at fault, your victim will get the repairs and medical treatment to which they are entitled.
As a trucker liability insurance really isn’t the ideal plan however. You’ll want at least full coverage from your insurance company, and in all honesty you will want to insure your cargo separately. Even comprehensive coverage won’t cover the cargo of an eighteen wheeler; it will repair the truck and trailer. If you don’t want to be stuck holding the bill for whatever you transport, you’ll want it insured too.
